"One minute stories" is a famous collection of novels by Hungarian writer István Örkény. Örkény's idea is self-explanatory: every novel takes just one minute to read. I pose the question: can the passing of time be conveyed through design as well? When it came to designing this experimental edition, I was exploring ways how an object can make you *feel* each and every second which passes while you hold it.

The book is an object, and it is also a time-based medium. I focused on aspects which utilise the dimensional nature of a book - tactile experiences, sounds, interaction. Through creating an enginiered structure, the cover became a functional hourglass: measuring one minute until it's turned around to restart. The motion of turning gains another important role, as the contents of the book are bilingual. Hungarian text is positioned right side up, while English text is upside-down. The cover is filled with tiny seeds which rustle as they fall, creating a vibrating sensation in the hand as time passes. Seeds return on the inner pages in the form of illustrations.
